Our Purpose
Our goal is to bring Gaziantep’s history, culture and traditions in a digital environment and introduce them to people who would like to know more about the city. Gaziantep Digital Library both enables people to reach the information about the city much easier and faster than traditional ways and provides researchers with a moderately rich information source.
On the one hand, our Library collects information sources related to the city’s historical and cultural heritage, on the other hand gives people interactive participation opportunity through indication of material, material donation and copyright permission. Gaziantep Digital Library also targets to cooperate with public and private institutions to enrich our Library’s information source, make our Library a frequently used information source and support researchers, who have projects to introduce the city.
As a cultural initiative, Gaziantep Digital Library started as a voluntary movement and keeps going that way.
